PD Warrior is an intensive exercise-based program designed to drive neuroplastic change in people with Parkinson’s with early intervention & operates in over 70 licensed locations. The Health Professional courses have been undertaken by over physios, OTs, EPs (PD nurses & charities have attended to) across Australia, NZ, UK, Ireland and soon in Germany. The Health Professional courses have been designed for those of you with experience in treating people with Parkinson’s & will give you the theoretical & practical skills to apply the core concepts of this intensive & neuro-active exercise approach, immediately in clinical practice. Learn how to improve function, quality of life & long-term exercise behaviour by building on your knowledge of assessment, exercise prescription & motivational coaching. The courses are essential if you work with people living with PD & were developed by Melissa McConaghy, FACP. She has been working with PD patients for 18 years & is 1 of only 7 Specialist Neurological Physiotherapists in Australia. She is a Fellow of the Australian College of Physiotherapists & holds a Master of Health Science (Neurological Physiotherapy). Melissa is the past Chair and National Representative of the NSW Neurology Group for the Australian Physiotherapy Association. As an educator, clinician & author, Melissa is a strong believer in exercise and its importance in the management of progressive conditions. She is also founder of the INSIGHT Into Parkinson’s Online Summit. This is a world first virtual conference for PD which launched in 2018. Melissa is also CEO & Founder of the Advance Rehab Centre in Sydney. ARC is a team of multi-disciplinary clinicians working in a community based rehab service. Over the last 10 years they have built a reputation as one of the most progressive neurological rehab services in Australia.
