Certificate III in Aged Care (Certificate 3 Guarantee program)

This course provides you with the skills to care for the elderly while making a difference to their lives. Learn how to effectively liaise with other healthcare professionals and take your career to the next level by supervising fellow workers.
Learn how to provide personal care and support in the daily activities of our aged community including individuals with dementia. Support your older person’s emotional and psychological needs, apply first aid and assist with self-medication, allow them age-appropriate independence to fulfil their needs and desires.

Recent year 12 graduates, who commence this course within the following calendar year, will be entitled to fee-free training under the state government’s Certificate 3 Guarantee and User Choice programs.
School Leavers must have completed Year 10 and be over 17 years of age and non-school-leavers are selected according to eligibility and merit, vocational experience, previous study and personal competencies.
Applicants from non-English speaking backgrounds who have learnt English since arriving in Australia must have completed a Certificate III (Level 3) in Spoken & Written English (CSWE). Applicants will be required to provide a certified copy of this Certificate with their application.
It is a mandatory industry requirement that students possess a valid First Aid Certificate prior to commencing vocational placement. This training is provided within the program of study.
This qualification requires an advanced level of communication skills. Physical fitness will be required to be able to bear a significant amount of weight when transferring physically dependent clients.
