Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety

If you are passionate about improving safety in the workplace to prevent illness and injury in your organisation and looking to make a career for yourself as an OHS safety officer or inspector, then look no further than our entry level Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety qualification. This course is suited to those who already oversee workplace health and safety (WHS) in their workplace or those who are interested in making this their career.

Our nationally accredited Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety course is offered online or as part time evening study option. In 12 short months, we’ll teach you the fundamental skills and knowledge for you to take that next step in your career.

Here’s just a few of the things that you will learn;
• legislation
• hazard identification and risk control
• emergency and incident response 
• systematic WHS management
• management of WHS contractors
• WHS initiatives
• claims management, rehabilitation and return to work programs

There are no set prerequisites for this course however you should have satisfactory numeracy and literacy skills as well as basic computer skills to undertake this course. You will need to complete 10 units (420 hours). 

Study online or face-to-face with evening classes held at our Essendon, VIC campus. 

When you have completed the Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety, there are a number of positions that you may apply for including:

• occupational health and safety officers
• occupational health and safety coordinators
• health and safety inspectors
• enhance your ability to perform the health and safety representative role

This occupational health and safety course course will lead to higher level studies into our Diploma of Work Health and Safety qualification.
