What you will learn

You will learn about the three major theoretical models of counselling in Theories of Therapeutic Intervention, the foundations of counselling and communication skills in Counselling Skills as well as specific counselling approaches in Counselling in Context.

Counselling offers a range of valuable skills that can be used across numerous job roles both within health and social care to those working in a role where counselling knowledge would be a real aid. It is particularly useful for nurses, community and youth workers, police officers or teachers to anyone dealing with vulnerable or distressed people.

Whatever your situation, this is an excellent foundation and a recognised qualification which allows you to move on to further study and broaden your career. You may be surprised to learn that counselling can be studied online.
