Diploma of Nursing

Our nursing courses are designed in conjunction with the health industry and cover a range of topics including nursing care, implementing and evaluating nursing care plans, monitoring medical and surgical patients, managing medications and understanding and implementing occupational health and safety.
With regular clinical placements you will encounter real-life situations and our simulated, on-campus clinical wards will develop your theoretical knowledge and test your practical skills on a daily basis.

Students may apply to study the diploma as a single qualification or choose an articulated option, which provides direct entry to several university programs upon successful completion.
Practical—Students are required to complete three clinical placements during this course. These clinical placements are for 3-4 weeks each and will take place at the successful completion of all theory tasks and exams each semester.
TAFE Queensland Brisbane requires School Leavers to have completed Year 12 or equivalent with a Sound Achievement in English. A sound achievement in mathematics and computers skills is also strongly recommended.
Non-school leavers are selected according to eligibility and merit, vocational experience, previous study and personal competencies. Applicants require sound language, literacy and numeracy skills, as well as computer skills.
Students must:
• be willing to undergo a National Police Check
• have vaccinations for Hepatitis B
• eligible for a Working with Children Card – it is an advantage for students to already have a Blue Card, however all students will have the opportunity to apply upon commencement of the course.
