Southern Tasmania, including Hobart, is subject to restrictions from 6pm on Friday after a coronavirus-infected NSW man escaped hotel quarantine.

* Restrictions cover the Brighton, Central Highlands, Clarence City, Derwent Valley, Glamorgan-Spring Bay, Glenorchy City, Hobart City, Huon Valley, Kingborough, Sorell, Southern Midlands and Tasman councils
* People are only permitted to leave home to:

- Shop for household supplies within 5km
- Attend medical appointments, including COVID-19 testing or vaccinations
FEATURED JOBS

- Work for a provider or business that is permitted to operate
- Attend school, if the student's parent is a permitted worker or they are unable to learn at home
- Exercise outdoors, once per day for up to two hours, within 5km of home. Only exercise with household members or one other person is permitted
- Care for a vulnerable person or other compassionate reasons

* Masks are mandatory for people aged over 12 when outside home
* Visits to aged care facilities and hospitals are restricted. Masks are required to be worn
* Cafes, restaurants and hotels will be open only for takeaway
* Home visitors are banned unless people are in a relationship, supporting a vulnerable person, or part of a bubble with someone who lives alone
* Leisure and recreation facilities, public playgrounds, skate parks, BMX tracks and outside gyms are closed
* Tasmanian residents from non-high risk jurisdictions who are booked to return home during lockdown are allowed in.
