The El Camino for the Kids provides an exciting twist on traditional challenge fundraising events, by taking participants on an overseas adventure to Spain to trek the iconic El Camino trail between 10 – 19 May 2018.
A team of dedicated supporters of Ronald McDonald Houses Monash and Parkville will endeavour to complete the final 125km of the El Camino trail, with a goal of raising over $3,500 each to keep our doors open to more families in 2018 and beyond.

Participants will tour Madrid and visit the local Ronald McDonald House, as well as visit the UNESCO World Heritage listed site at Santiago de Compostela.
Last year, the Parkville and Monash Houses accommodated thousands of families needing urgent accommodation close to their child’s hospital bed. Funds raised as part of this adventure will go towards providing essential items to families caring for seriously ill children, as well as the ongoing costs of maintaining both Houses.
Peter Bishop, CEO of Ronald McDonald Houses Monash and Parkville, says, “We are delighted to offer you this once in a lifetime opportunity that will raise vital funds needed to keep families close”.
Amy, mother of Olivia who stayed at the Parkville House for 274 nights while Olivia had treatment, says, “Olivia calls Ronald McDonald House our holiday house, and that works for her, she’s not pining, we’re on holidays while she’s sick…I think that’s quite mature for a 3 year old.”
