Hundreds of nurses, students and health professionals from around the country will come together next week to discuss how to ‘
Make Change Happen’ for the benefit of patients and communities and use their voice to lead change in nursing, health and aged care.
The Australian College of Nursing’s National Nursing Forum is being held in Sydney from 21-23 August.

During the Forum, attendees will also have the opportunity to hear from respected nurse and health care leaders, senior decision makers and Members of Parliament as well as explore the creative ways in which nurses can make change happen in education, industry, academia and even as entrepreneurs.
Australian College of Nursing Chief Executive Officer, Adjunct Professor Kylie Ward FACN, said the event would also highlight end-of-life care in hospitals, how nurses could work together to prevent violence towards health professionals and emerging and important health issues such as chronic disease management.
“The Forum will provide a platform for nurses from around Australia to explore where nursing is as a profession today, share insights and discuss how nurses can collectively harness their skills to lead the development of solutions to Australia’s health and aged-care challenges,” Adjunct Professor Ward said.
“Nurses have a broad knowledge of the political, societal and economic forces shaping health care as well as intimate experience of the needs of consumers accessing the health and aged-care systems.
“The program for the Forum has been carefully designed so delegates not only have access to world-class keynote speakers, but the opportunity to participate in Masterclasses that cover topics such as bullying in nursing, clinical leadership and mentoring for nurses.
“In addition, we will be offering Speed Leading and Networking Sessions, which give emerging nurse leaders and early to mid-career nurses a career coaching and mentoring opportunity with senior nurse executives, clinicians and academics.”
