All states and territories have failed to vaccinate Indigenous Australians against COVID-19 at the same rate as the rest of the country, with new data exposing a worrying health gap.
An update of Indigenous vaccination rates, shared by the federal government on Wednesday, shows gaps of more than a quarter of the total population in the worst-performing states.

No state or territory has managed to achieve parity, or close the gap, in getting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander vaccination rates to meet state averages.
The biggest gap is in WA where the difference in full vaccination rates is almost 30 per cent.
In South Australia, where 90 per cent of people over 16 are fully vaccinated, Indigenous people are 20.8 per cent less likely to have received two doses.
Indigenous Australians are just under 10 per cent less likely to be fully vaccinated in NSW, and about eight per cent less likely to have received one dose.
In Queensland, the rate sits 15 per cent below the state average for full vaccination, and 12 per cent lower for first doses.
Indigenous people in Tasmania are about 12 per cent less likely to be fully vaccinated, in a state where the population is more than 95 double-dosed.
The best-performing state was Victoria, where Indigenous people have a six per cent lower rate of full vaccination than the state average.
This was followed closely by the NT, which has a seven per cent lower vaccination rate than the territory's average.
In WA, data shows only 64 per cent of Indigenous people are fully vaccinated, compared with the state average of more than 91 per cent.
It means that roughly two out of every five Indigenous people in the state do not enjoy the same protections from COVID-19 as the majority.
The number of people in WA who have received one dose is also lagging - only 77 per cent - compared with the state average showing more than 95 per cent have had their first shot.
