COURSE OVERVIEW
PD Warrior is an intensive exercise-based program designed to drive neuroplastic change in people with Parkinson’s and operates in nearly 60 locations. The course has already been undertaken by over 1,500 health professionals in Australia, New Zealand, England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. This number will increase to 2,000 trained by end 2018. PD Warrior & it's partners have also treated over 5,000 patients since it's inception in 2012! This course is ESSENTIAL if you work with people living with Parkinson’s and was developed by Melissa McConaghy, Founder of PD Warrior. Melissa has been working with Parkinson’s patients for 17 years and is 1 of only 7 Specialist Neurological Physiotherapists in Australia.
The course has been designed for Health Professionals with experience in treating people with Parkinson’s and will give you the theoretical and practical skills to apply the core concepts of this intensive and neuro-active exercise approach, immediately in clinical practice.

- How to assess and treat someone throughout the various stages of Parkinson’s
Level 2 is a PRACTICAL WORKSHOP and can only be completed after successful completion of Level 1 Introductory Theory ONLINE. The Level 2 course is a progression and implementation of the introductory theory learned in Level 1. It is expected that you complete the Level 1 module BEFORE attending the Level 2 Practical Workshop. Level 2 can be purchased as a bundle with Level 1 or separately at your discretion.
The practical workshop is delivered face to face and runs from 9am to 4.30pm. You are expected to participate in the exercise component and come dressed and prepared to exercise HARD! If you have any injuries or restrictions on exercise please advise your trainer.
To give you the best experience of delivering the concepts of PD Warrior, you will be working with volunteer patients who have the Parkinson’s movement disorder. You require professional indemnity insurance to participate in this session. Sensitivity and confidentiality are expected.

She is a Fellow of the Australian College of Physiotherapists, Specialist Neurological Physiotherapist and holds a Master of Health Science (Neurological Physiotherapy). Melissa is the past Chair and National Representative of the NSW Neurology Group for the Australian Physiotherapy Association.
As an educator, clinician and author, Melissa is a strong believer in exercise and its importance in the management of progressive conditions. She is the Founder of PD Warrior an early intervention approach for treating Parkinson’s disease. This program has now been taught to over 1,000 health professionals world-wide and is currently under license in four countries.
Melissa is also founder of the INSIGHT Into Parkinson’s Online Summit. This is a world first virtual conference for PD which launched in 2018 and included 30 Speakers from around the world from leading experts in research, neurologists, clinicians and CEOs of Parkinsons organisations including The Michael J. Fox Foundation.

“The New Parkinson’s Treatment: Exercise is Medicine”Lynn Tullock, APAMLynn graduated from the University of Liverpool in the UK in 2000. She is Senior Neurological Physiotherapist and has worked in the field of both acute and community based neuro rehabilitation in both the UK and Australia. As Clinical Director, Lynn leads the growing multi disciplinary clinical and admin team at Advance Rehab Centre and is the Co-Founder of the PD Warrior program. Lynn is passionate about the provision of therapy services on discharge from the acute hospital setting and inpatient rehabilitation. She works hard to ensure that ARC delivers evidence based and quality rehabilitation along with her team, and which has treated over 400 people since 2012.
